Hey, I'm Micha den Heijer. I'm a third-year Econometrics and Operations Research student at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. I'm learning a lot about statistical and analytical models and how to apply those models in the real world.
I've always been interested in programming and software development, which is a good combination with Econometrics. In the last few years, I've created some handy open-source packages. When creating these packages I have learned a lot about Python and how to write it quickly.

I graduated from the Herbert Vissers College at the Gymnasium level. Gymnasium is a specific type of Dutch secondary education, comparable to British grammar schools or American college-preparatory schools.
Currently I'm a third-year Econometrics and Operations Research at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. I'm learing how to use statistical and analytical models to help make decisions. It's not easy but it's very intresting!
Currently I am working as an SDG (Social Development Goals) Trainee at Friesland Campina, with a team I am helping Friesland Campina achieve the Social Development Goals to ensure that we will live in a more sustainable, fair and healty world.
I'm currently a member of multiple Kraket committees (Introduction, Studytrip, International & Ecotribune). We (usually) have biweekly meetings, where we try to help Econometrics students with their study, e.g. by introducing new (international) students to the VU University, or organizing an international studytrip.
I've created a dashboard for managers to view the performance of their employees. I build a Node.js Webapp that received and transformed the data from an existing SQL database.
I've build my own website that is about programming and technology. Most of this information is already available in English, but it wasn't available in my native language (Dutch), so I decided to help Dutch people get into technology and programming.
With a group of a few other students we participated in a CanSat competition. The goal of this competition is to build a small satellite (the size of a regular soda can). In these two years we've build a small satellite that can triangulate an small object.
I've completed a special program that teaches its participants to speak, read and write English just as well as native English speakers.
Although I can develop other technology related products, I'm most capable in these categories.
